Record Bowl

Probably the easiest thing to make from a vinyl record. Place the record on top of a bowl with a can on the center label. Place in the oven at 200c for 6-8 minutes. Watch your record warp and mold around the bowl. Voila, new fruit, jewelery, key holder, spare change, holder...possibilities are endless.

I want to see what happens with different shaped and different sized bowls...

Vinyl Coasters

I discovered vinyl coasters on youtube, I then google'd several how to's in order to make my own.
Most of them suggested either a drill with a circular attachment, or heating them before you cut them.
I did neither, I used some heavy duty scissors to cut the excess vinyl. When I got to the final circle that would make the coaster, I used an emery board to file it down. It worked pretty well and took about 10 minutes per coaster.
Thicker vinyl is obviously more difficult to cut, in fact it cracks, snaps and unpredictably breaks. The James Brown coaster has a few cosmetic errors but still functions as a coaster :)
